How to vote on StumbleUpon

The smooth and correct way

Just press the link to the right of the text in Site-Hype. When the browser has loaded the page, you press the thumbs up image(I like this) at the top of the screen. Enter your review and choose a tag, then press Add Review. The reviews you have entered can also be edited by you. If you are not logged in you are asked to do so.

Via the StumbleUpon toolbar

Go to the page you wish to tagg and press the the thumbs up button in your toolbar. Then you press the white Speach bubble that take you to the Review page. Enter your review and choose a tag, then press Add Review. The reviews you have entered can also be edited by you.

How to find the right page without a toolbar or correct Vote URL

Login at StumbleUpon.com. Paste the title of the page you want to tagg in the search textfield at the top right corner and press Search. If the title is to long for the search field you need to shoorten it and add the “” at the beginning and end to get a goo match. Like this example:

You enter the following in the search box:

Press the blue link in your search result. This takes you to a page where you can press the Thumbs up(I like this!) button. A review button appears allowing you to give a written review of the page.

Problem with “old” StumbleUpon

If you only see popular tags when you press search you are using the old StumbleUpon. Find out if it is the “new StumbleUpon” by pressing Home tab and look at the top of the page. If you see a light blue bar at the top with a link saying “Try the new StumbleUpon” you are at old StumbleUpon and you cant find the page you are looking for by Search. Press the “Try the new StumbleUpon” -link and do as instructed above.

How to submit to StumbleUpon

Go to the page you wish to submit and press the the thumbs up(I like it!) button in your toolbar. Since you are the first to submit this, a popup appears and asks you to add the page. In the popup the Title is already there and you enter the Review, choose a Topic, fill in a yes or no for adult content and then press Submit this site. Be sure to get the correct Vote URL to use in Site-Hype.

StumbleUpon.com without a toolbar

Go to www.Stumbleupon.com and sign in. Go to Your Home tab at the top of the page. In StumbleUpon all the pages you add or review are collected under “Your favorites” in “Reviews/Favorites”. Chose the media you want to add by pressing that link. Add the URL and a Review of your page, then Press “Post new blog” and you are done. Be sure to get the correct Vote URL to use in Site-Hype.

Your Vote URL – This is important

Your Vote URL should look something like this:

Your original web page works as well but for people without the toolbar it is more cumbersome.

StumbleUpon is a community allowing its users to discover and rate Web pages, photos, and videos. It is a personalized recommendation engine which uses peer and social-networking principles.

StumbleUpon is best experienced via the StumbleUpon toolbar.

How to create accounts

Go to StumbleUpon.com and click the “Sign up now” button. Enter your email, your date of birth, gender and pick a username. Click the “Join and Download Now” button. You are forwarded to the toolbar download page. Install it.

Now go to your email account and confirm your email account in the email you just received from StumbleUpon.
