The new social web is a great way to draw interest to your web pages, to spark discussions and hopefully to have your site go viral. I would argue that one of the contributing reasons for the web 2.0 explosion is that people on the social sites discusses other social sites. After all, if you are using one social service you and the people you are socializing with are most likely interested in other social sites.
Some stories take away but the fact is that almost all stories posted on the social sites are ignored and forgotten. And the time your spend posting your site to the socials wasted.
